Video editor remote job: explore a side hustle

Build a short script around one idea. Use footage you own or have permission to use, check the sound and captions, and explain your editorial approach.

Show how you solve an editorial problem

A strong proposal can explain the reasoning behind an edit, not just display a collection of transitions. Pick a sample you have the right to share and describe its audience, brief and your contribution. Explain how you arranged the material to make one idea easier to follow. If you are building a portfolio from scratch, create an original demonstration and label it as such. Do not present someone else’s work as your own or promise a particular commercial outcome from your editing.

Build a reliable post-production workflow

Organise footage, audio, graphics and permissions before opening the timeline. Create a rough cut around the message, then check pacing and continuity before polishing colour and sound. Captions should match what is actually said and remain legible on a small screen. Use music and typefaces that allow commercial use, and keep a record of their licences. A reusable layout can save preparation time, but inspect each export independently for missing context, clipped text and misleading visual emphasis.

Adapt the deliverable to its setting

Different channels may crop the same footage in different ways. Reframe the subject for each placement and review the exported file with and without sound. Consider how the cover, caption and disclosure work together before it goes live. For this partnership, every version must retain the laboratory research context and avoid medical or human-use claims. Save an editable project and clearly named versions so that a factual correction can be made without rebuilding the entire piece. Attribution and review determine commission; an edit alone does not create a fee.

How the partnership works

Commission is 25 % on products actually paid for, after discounts, refunds and indirect taxes, excluding shipping. Your personal code gives customers 10 % off products; one code per order, not combinable. Attribution uses the code or a link with cookie consent.

Available commissions are prepared on the first 15th after 30 full days from delivery, following payment and order review. Payment is made manually by bank transfer. Admission requires manual approval, invitation and written acceptance. Earnings may carry tax obligations.

Products are exclusively for laboratory research. Do not make medical claims or suggest human or veterinary use, diagnosis, consumption or personal results. Disclose the paid partnership and follow your platform’s rules.

Getting started
